Memorial complex "Khodzhi Makhmuda Anzhir Fagnavi"

Khoja Mahmud Anjir Fagnavi was born in the village of Anjir Fagni in the Vabkent district — present-day Anjirbog. He was a student and spiritual follower of Khoja Arif Revgari. Sources also link his life to the craft of carpentry, which corresponds to the idea characteristic of the Khojagan school of combining spiritual practice with honest labor.

Fagnavi's special place in the history of Sufism is connected with the practice of zikr. A state source indicates that he used both quiet zikr — khufi, and collective loud zikr — jahriya. The introduction of public loud zikr is associated with his name; explaining this practice, he is credited with a saying about the need to "wake the sleeping."

After him, the spiritual tradition was continued by Khoja Ali Ramitani.
