Khodja Ali Ramitani Memorial Complex

Khoja Ali Ramitani was a student of Mahmud Anjir Fagnavi and one of the most important spiritual mentors of the Khodjagan tradition. In sources he is known by the honorary name Azizon / Azizkhon, that is, the revered mentor.

One of the characteristic features of his biography is the combination of the spiritual path with an ordinary craft: Ramitani was engaged in weaving. This detail reflects one of the important principles of the Central Asian Sufi tradition — spiritual life did not require a complete renunciation of labor and social activity.

Date of birth 1194, and date of death 1316 or 1321. It is also stated that he died in Kunya-Urgench.

This is essential for describing the site itself: the state Directorate directly notes that the mausoleum/grave in Romitan is of a symbolic nature, whereas his burial place is associated with Khorezm. The modern complex in the Romitan district includes a mosque, a gate, a shrine, an ayvan, a pond and a garden.
