The Mahmudkhoja Behbudi House-Museum was created on 18 October 2021 on the basis of resolution No. 206 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 13 April 2021.
The opening of the museum took place on 18 October — on the Day of the City of Samarkand.
The Mahmudkhoja Behbudi House-Museum, dedicated to the renowned enlightener, playwright, journalist and publisher, is one of the scholarly and educational centres for the academic study and broad promotion of his creative work.
The expositions mounted in the museum are based on a scholarly concept presenting Behbudi's life and work, the history of Jadidism, the cultural and educational realities of the early 20th century, museum exhibits, documents, photocopies and other items.
