Old Samarkand panorama by the Hazrat Khizr Mosque
A hilltop view over old Samarkand, Siab Bazaar and the Bibi-Khanym Mosque.
About
From the rise at the foot of Afrasiab, by the Hazrat Khizr Mosque, the old city opens up: the domes of Bibi-Khanym, the rows of Siab Bazaar and the rooftops of the mahallas. The light is best early in the morning and before sunset; 20–40 minutes is enough for the stop. The mosque is a working one: dress modestly, follow the photography rules and check access to the viewpoints on site.
